I think the Oasis of the Seas will be just that - an oasis. There are lots of firsts on this ship, and there are more "reveals" to come. The latest reveal of the newest "neighborhood" show a carousel with real wooden horses and a zip line.

A zip line on a cruise ship. It sounds like such a simple thing, but what a massive ship to be able to accommodate an adequate zip line. The video on the website is incredible; it focuses for a moment on a person whizzing along on the zip line far overhead. (All of this is computer generated. The ship is far from complete.)

The neighborhood concept seems really cool. So far they've announced Central Park and Boardwalk. The Central Park area is phenomenal as well. It an open air large park with shopping and dining to each side. The coolest thing, though, is that there will be interior balcony stateroom over looking this area. I think these will prove to be quite popular staterooms.

The Central Park neighborhood is slated to have it's own horticulturalist. This person will conduct tours and help with gardening topics.

The interior view rooms overlooking the Promenade on Freedom and Voyager class ships are fun, but with this you can sit outside and enjoy the fresh air, but not pay for that ocean view.

There's a lot of information. I think I'll post more on this fascinating ship soon.

Tell me what you think.

Regards,

Hi Everyone,

This is my first ever blog entry. I'm not quite sure how or what I want to share exactly, but I look forward to sharing it. I've been a numerous cruises and I think crusing is the only way to travel or vacation. What could be better? You get to see lots of different places on one trip. You get great food and service, while being to able to relax or excercise as you please.

My first cruise was in 1994 on the Cunard Crown Jewel. That was quite a memorable experince, and it was a good ship to cruise with for the first time.

Since then, I've cruise about 25 more times on various cruise lines. I've been all over the Caribbean. I've also been to Bermuda and Europe on cruises.

I'm going to try to learn how to format this blog. I plan to share pictures and thoughts about some of my past cruises as well as lessons learned. Perhaps a "best practices" section would a way to describe what I would like to share.

Anyway, I think this is enough for my first blog entry.

Thanks for popping in. I'd love to hear your thoughts.

James
